Take it a step at a time. Check the cat first and if it has to be replaced, thus fixing the problem, I would draw up a gameplan for the rest of what we discussed. If it isn't the cat, then start looking into the other repairs.

You should do one thing at a time(starting with the cheapest), then you/we will know what the cause is.And please update us.
