Default Help, Tires and??

So i just got a 01 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd and its pretty clean and all but i need some new tires. Its been raining all day and i havn't looked at the size i have now but i dont like em lol. There to tall and skinny and i wanna shorter more wider tire. So does anyone have a size in mind i might can look at that will go on a stock rim?? The truck is stock height and i dont plan on doing anything with it as of right now but to use it for work. Also i drove the truck and i was great ride, firm shifts on the tranny and the overall look of the truck was good so i went ahead and got it. Now that iv driving it for more miles the check engine light has came on. I plan on getting it checked out but is there anything that might be a problem with the truck that has happend with other vehicles of the same year model?? just wondering, we had a 96 with the light on and it was the o2 sensor but it stayed on after we replaced it. ANy help would be nice thanks.

try turning the ingition on, but don't start it, then turn it off then on then off then on again, and leave it on it should give a code like this: PXXXX That will help determine what is wrong with the Check engine light... As for the Tires Michelin LTX 245/75's should do good on that...

I like em... And they handle well...

It depends on what size you have now, I personally like the Dunlop 32x11.5 r15 I have on my JEEP, the the BFG 33x15.5 r15 I had on my truck.

well, with stock rims he should have 16's, and probably has the 25/75R16's.. which means if he don't like the look of them cuz they look skinny, try the 245/75's, and it will be a much wider looking tire, I suggested the Michelin LTX, because I had them on my Ford, and they handled well.. But tires are seriously personal.. And what I may like you may hate... Go take a look, and talk to a GOOD tire guy...

Aye, but you can pick up a set of 15 inch steel rims for about $100 from any second hand tire shop or salvage yard, I think the 15 inch rims look bad *** on any truck any bigger and it looks to much like a ricer to me unless the truck is set up to be a street machine.
