i did some researching but didnt find anything.

looking for a diy to replace the helper springs on the hood (unsure of the correct name)
my passenger side broke( just bout had a heart attack when it did loud *** all get out)
and my driver side is not looking so fresh. any idea why these are going bad? i've only had the truck almost a year now, and who ever had it before me was a hackabilly so i dought they performed proper lubrication on the hinges.
