New exhaust...Headers...O2 simulators?
i'm putting a new exhaust on my truck, dual pipes and since its almost strictly an offroad truck, i want to remove the cats and put o2 simulators....
a buddy of mine told me that the dodge computers are really hard to fool with an o2 simulator and that it won't work.
i couldn't find a preexisting thread so i'm hoping someone can help me if they have ever done it before or know of a simulator that will work
thanks

google oxygen simulators. there many different ones. and yes, they will work. there are many on here that have done them.to get rid of the cel.
maybe zman17 will chime in. he has done the spark plug non fouler trick. its cheap and has worked for a few too.

I don't think you need a sim for the pre cat one. You can try the non fouler fix before you spend the money on a sim. I bought a HELP! part # 42002, Screwed them together and drilled out the middle one with 1/2 inch drill bit to clear the sensor, screwed the sensor into them, then screwed the whole thing back into the pipe, plugged it in and no more CEL.
yeah, i would even leave the pre-cat one to keep my air fuel ratio in tact but my issue is the post cat. I wanna take out the cat and thereby it will mess up the reading from the post cat and then i'll get an error code. whats the spark plug nonfouler trick?
thanks

Did you read post # 3 ?
Got mine at the Fastman, don't know if he sells them anymore. I believe somebody posted that he doesn't carry them anymore. I kept getting the P0420 code. That was before Magnaflow started making the 99xxx series cats to keep up with ethanol emissions. The old 94xxx series doesn't have enough precious metal surface area to adequately handle the emissions. Magnaflow has a "TSB" out there that if the vehicle throws that code you should only need to return to the shop you purchased it and pay the difference to upgrade the cat.
At least that's what my exhaust guy told me.
