Default New Ram, headlight problem, w/ pics

Hello again all! Just picked up my new Ram today. It's an '01 Sport model. Everything is fine and dandy with it. As soon as I get it cleaned up I will get some pics up.

I do have one problem though that might get annoying after a bit. The right side headlight does not work. I bought a new bulb thinking it was that but when I popped off the connector to change it a bunch of brown and green dust came out. Knowing exactly what this was, I said "D'oh!" The connector was corroded inside and the bulb connections were as well. The filament in the bulb is just fine. I tried some contact cleaner/lubricant but still no go. Here are some pics of the connector so you can see what I'm talking about.

It also appears that one of the terminals is not making contact with the bulbs leads. What do you guys think I should do about this?

~Eric

You could just go to a junkyard, lop one off, take it home, solder/shrink tube it on, and off you go. I'll bet that if you go to the dealer and ask for one they'll say they have to sell the whole electrical harness (1700 bucks, just had that experience).

If you wear baggy pants you caneven get it for free by slipping it into your pocket, i do this often with smaller parts, now I am trying ot figure out how I am gunna get a 4.0 head and exhaust manifold out.

Or just order one of the Nokya or similar headlight harnesses either solder on or pnp and cut the end off. You can get them on eBay for pretty cheap and they will stand up to high wattage bulbs if you ever run those. Advance near me also sells them although I'm not sure if they have them for 9004 bulbs or not. You can get the Nokya ones pretty cheap off eBay though and you could just solder it on.

Or if you're really fat like me just pick a fold and stuff it in there.

Yup, Purpl is right, the harnesses are the same, you just can't wire them the same.

Advance has them (or at least, mine did). So does O'Reilly's (mine did).

I was actually thinking of takng the 4.2 head in with me to "makesure I get the right thing" and then taking the 4.0 one out with me saying I could not find the right one, but if I do that I can't keep the original if i dont like the 4.0 swap.
