Default Reverse Lights/Grille Shell

that's my truck.

my reverse lights don't come on unless i put it in between park and drive. why's that?

and does anyone know where i can get a grille shell that would fit this truck and look the same. it's cracked. i can only find a chrome grille shell but i need a white fiberglass one.

well, there is reverse and neutral between park and drive, PRND21.
I think i know what you mean, when in reverse you kind of have to hold the shifter down, just passed reverse, almost into neutral, to get the lights on. mine does the same thing, my shifter is really worn and sloppy, but im not sure where the reverse light switch is, in the shifter or in the tranny, i havent looked that far yet, lol

Mine is EXACTLY the same,..
Hold reverse down almost to neutral
to get the back-up lights to come on. It kinda sucks
do to the fact when plowing at night I'd sure like my
55 watt driving light to work that I installed back there
to see.

I have mine on a switch.. It'd be a pain in the Ace to turn them on and off when plowing... but I guess you could just leave it on when plowing and switch it off when driving from job to job

You could maybe read through the service manual to see where the rev light switch is. Or just blow your horn before you back up...

the switch for the backup lights is on the side of the transmission, drivers side, sort of near the front, and near where the linkage is. its called the reverse/neutral safety switch. not expensive. you might try replacing the switch, or try adjusting the linkage to make the switch work.

Thanks,.. I'll price the switch out. I know it's gotta be worn-out.
(Is it a hard item to replace)??
