Turn signels and brake lights not working
I have a 2001 Ram 4x4 with 63.000 miles. I found out today that my turn signels and brake lights aren't working. The tail lights do come on and the 3rd brake light works. I did change the bulbs and checked the fuse and all are good. I was going to go out of town tomorrow, but now with no lights I may have to change my plans to help a friend more.
No simple answers for this one. Best advice I can give you is start from the power source and work your way back to the tailights. Try swapping fuses in the PDC (swapping with proper rating of course). Sometimes these fuses blow, but still look like they're good. Look at the FAQ threads at the forum top. You will find '01 wiring diagrams there (Merry Christmas thread). Use the diagrams and a multimeter to TS your problem. Good luck.
Try your emergency flashers and see if the brake lights and front signal lights are working. If they all are working the problem is probably in your signal switch circuit which separates the brake lights from the turn signals.
Well, I've been unable to find my proble and now my low beams want come on, If I put the high beams on and then go back to low beams they will come on. Still no turn or stop lights. Tail lights are still working. I can't find the 01 wiring diagram or the Merry Christmas thread. Please I need all the help I can get at this point.
Sounds like you are having a problem with the multi-function switch. It is the only thing common to all the lights you are mentioning. You can get a replacement at NAPA or Autozone.
