tire changing problem
My neighbor just got a 2004 dodge ram just like mine. I have never changed a tire on it and he says he can't get it off and it is too cold outside and I don't want to look at it. ANybody know what his problem is?
Why do people have to be like that. Lug nuts are off it looks like it has a screw on cap in the middle. don't know. If it does don't have a tool to take off. NOthing in the manual about it.
My fault. Did he jack it up before trying to remove the tire? The weight of the truck may be holding it onto the studs still.
In all seriousness though, the only thing holding the tire on is the lug nuts. The cap doesnt hold the wheel to the truck. Its just frozen on or something. Your going to just have to go out and knock it off.

Hey I have an idea! Post it the right forum (3rd generation) and you might get an answer from someone who actually has a 2004. LOL

We get this alot at the shop, Could be a variety of reasons but this normally gets them off. Jack it up and kick back side of it, A few good kicks should get it off, if not use a rubber mallets and smack the backside of the tire all the way around to break it off away. Should come off then.
It could be rust or ice, since you said it cold out where your at odds are its Ice.
Let us know if you ever get it off.
