Question Shakin' & rattlin'...

I finally took my ram for it's first test drive today, drove about 20 miles on highway.
I have already done a lot of work to my baby, you can check it out on this topic:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ite-smoke.html

So i start driving and feel a shake while I'm driving, it seems to have the same frequency as the RPM of the engine... Once I'm on the highway and the gears shift into overdrive, it shakes so much i have to disable the overdrive to drive a little more normal! Also when i step on the gas there's a rattle that sounds like a marble in a tin can.

Does anybody have any idea of what I should check?

Thanks guys!

Wrap the CC and see if it rattles.

oh right, sorry...
Well, that's the weird thing, i also drive on propane gas. When i switch to propane, the rattle is gone, but the truck still shakes when i accelerate... the engine iddles smoother on propane also, normally it should be the opposite.

Just did a small trip from home to my workshop today, the check engine light came on.
I checked the code and gave me 3 times code 43. I looked it up but forgot what it means, something like didn't reach peak voltage at maximum dwell time. What does that mean?

Greetz,

I'll have to look into later when I get home from work. Maybe someone else will know in the mean time.

The shaking sounds like a misfire, can rattle sounds like deto (which can be caused by improper firing), and the peak voltage at max dwell is it increasing the dwell ("charge" time) for the ignition coil to maximum allowable without the desired voltage/current being reached (yes, it monitors this). All this combined and I would check to see that the ignition coil resistances are in spec. Chances are that it's on its way out.

Thank you, i'll check this as soon as possible! I'll also try to do a compression test this weekend, while i'm checking the coil and resistances.

Thank you guys!
