Default Cup Holder Bracket help

A very heavy footed person accidently put their foot on the drop down cupholder in our 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 and broke it out. The holder itself seems fine but we need to find the bracket that is in the dash for it.

Does anyone have any idea where to find this? Seems we can find the holder but not the bracket short of going to the dealer and paying top $$$ for it.

Thanks in advance for any help!

They are on eBay all the time, or try craigslist for trucks being parted out. You will probably have to buy the whole thing since that is how they are usually sold. When mine broke, I bought a new one from a dealership, but i got a discount through a member on here who works in a parts department at a dealership. It was cheaper then any I saw on eBay at the time.

Good luck.

I would start by calling all your local wrecking yards, you might luck out.

Default Guess I should have said

that I have searched the junk yards and all...I just checked on e-bay and see several full units. I was really wondering if the bracket that inserts into the dash is available by itself. The cupholder itself is fine and could be reused if I could find a new bracket.

I doubt you will find only the bracket for sale. Dealerships sell them as a complete unit, and what you will find on ebay will likely be the same since that is how they are taken out of trucks (as a complet unit). A salvage yard or a parts truck is probably the only place to find just the bracket.

You have to buy the unit as a whole... it's the only way.. it seems to me that the cup holder breaking is a common problem... I turned mine into a CB holder!

Post CHEAP Cupholder FIX

The bracket on my cupholder broke also, only the little loops that the plastic pins on the holder go into were broke so I measured out the right length of nylon cord and screwed it into the dash and into the cupholder behind the bracket then I snapped the bracket back onto the pins now short of standing on the cupholder I can't break the bracket again and it looks like it was never broke.
