APS Custom custom built - $1800 - $2600
I have read many positive reviews and recommendations on APS.
As for other things i want to do is completely rebuild the front end, add gears and locker, susp. and body lift. and a few other secrets
Truck goes into the body shop either this weekend or next for body work.
Let me know what you guys think! Yea i know i could do alot more with the money but call me crazy, i accept negatively-positive comment but those that are just plain ignorant will be ignored.

why not get a SCT?
and do you really need to replace your main studs and head bolts? This is something I've been wanting to ask. I have seen some on ebay at pretty good prices but if i don't need to replace them I might not.
Are you gonna replace all the bearings and such? After seeing what mine looked like i would suggest anybody tearing into their engine do that.
I can't get people spending almost 200 bucks on valve covers. i know they look good but that just blows my mind.
good luck keep us updated on the build

If you're just rebuilding your stock motor back to stock configuration then your stock bolts should work fine, as long as the threads arent looking rough or stripped. Its just for that extra strength. Say you put 5k into a motor and use 5 dollar bolts its just cutting a corner. that bolt could break and cause you over 500$ in parts and repairs- so why not just spend the extra money. I hear it ever where i go - "you get what you pay for".
Bearings- most def those should be replaced. Its constant friction, metal to metal. it could start out at .5 thick (not exact size
) and after 250k miles it can deteriorate to .25 thick. doesn't sound like much but its all crucial when it comes to making a motor last.now on valve covers its all what you're into. when i get finished i don't want just a motor that pushes 400+hp, i want one that does that and looks good doing it.
All i can say is that i wish i had that kind of money to stick into this truck
Should be a fun adventure with everything! Make sure you keep us updated on how everything is going and of course pics!

you make a very good point. one that I have actually used myself on here about my rebuild lol. I guess I'm stuck on the fact I still need to spend so much on other stuff I'm trying to conserve some of my money.
oh i understand completely. KRC has a built 408 stroker for 8k but my uncle builds race motors so i figure if i piece it for less he can build it- he owes for some dirty jobs i did for him awhile back lol.
isn't the '95 pre OBD-II and therefor cannot utilize an SCT tuner? I'm not trying to be
an @$$ but I wouldn't put that kind of money into a pre OBD-II egr motor. I think its
going to be a b i t c h to tune. just my 2 cents.
