Default Need a Good Dodge Mechanic in Northern Virginia

Today I was getting my inspection and emissions test done today when the man told me that my emmission test failed today. He said it failed because of the code P1740! By reading some threads I know this can be really bad or nothing at all. So I want to take it to a good Dodge mechanic in the Northern Virginia area. If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

P-1740 TCC OR O/D SOLENOID PERFORMANCE

A transmission code caused you to fail emissions?

some emission inspections require that there be no check engine lights or codes. They are now plugging into OBD ports while doing inspections

If you have issues passing inspection in NOVA, take it to great ole fauquier county where we have no emission inspections However i also recommend evergreens auto service at 5009 Lee Hwy, Warrenton, VA 20187, they used to be over in haymarket and the building they are in now used to be S&S auto sales. Don knows his stuff and does a no nonsense inspection.

I think that depends on where the vehicle is registered and garaged.

I'm thinking if it's registered in a county where they have to pass emissions and/or safety inspection he can't get around it that easy.

My grandfather spends most of his time in Fairfax, his Cadillac has been throwing torque converter codes for the transmission, while the car and transmission are completely operational they won't pass inspection with the codes. Good transmission mechanic told him to run it till it craps out, rebuilds around $3k.

Luckily all he had to do was change registration to Southwest Va and they passed it with no problems

Currently, no emissions testing in central VA, so that makes inspections sweet!
