My 4wd shifter has came out of 4Hi by itself 2 times now. It does it within 10-20 yards after engaging it. This has happened 2x so far both times when it was cold. When I realized it I pulled it back into 4 hi and it was fine the rest of the day. Is it common for this to occur when it is cold or is there some other problem? 4 WD runs very smooth and works as it should except for these 2 times now. ( 2x in the last 2 weeks). Let me know what the masses think!

 

I've had it happen a couple of times but only when wheeling. Did you hit a big bump or something when it happened or smooth road? I think if the linkage gets a little loose and it bumps around, it slips out.
