Default Plenum Question

Well I am quickly getting parts in to fix my truck....but heres my question. Talked to my mechanic earlier and he said he was just gonna swap out my old intake with the new one. How can i check the plenum gasket on the new one to make sure its ok and how much do them gaskets run?

need more info on what the 'new' intake is. if its an M1/airgap thing, then its cast as a single piece and doesn't have a plenum plate/gasket. however if its stock, then its a 2 piece intake and you have to bolt on the bottom plate, and the aluminum plate is the best long term fix.

the hughes plate kit with intake bolts is about $150.

see pics here to better describe it.

Yep if it's stock get either that Hughes kit or the APS one.

the whole gasket set is a little over $30.

you'll need the actual plenum gasket and the 4 intake gaskets that rest on the engine/heads that the intake sits on. Get the felpro set if you have a choice in it.
