Default Help with my sound system

I have got a E1800d Monoblock JL audio amp, 2 12" Infinity Kappa 1400watts 350Rms subs. I blew the subs somehow about 2 months ago and now my amp has a red protect light on and the subs and amp do nothing at all, I called Radioactive where I bought it he said the subs wrecked the amp. I just had the amp fixed does anyone know anything about these amps? or can anyone tell me if the subs being blown could have broken the amp? And my subs are they garbage now?
THANKS

Yes, if the subs blow they can ruin your amp. And vise versa if your amp dies it can ruin your subs at the same time. You can take it to any good stereo shop and they will be able to explain it alot better then i can. When you push on the subs are they rock hard and cant push in on them at all, or is it nice and smooth when you push on them.

Take your amp to another audio shop and have them bench test the amp. I would say when you blew the subs, you fried the cross over in the amp.
What were you doing that you blew your subs?

EDIT: Did you bridge the speakers?

Well since the amp broke the first time I brought it to the shop and he fixed it, I don't know what I did when i hooked it all back up but the system never worked like it used to It should be able to pop a window or 2 if I wanted to, It would make a loud fast crack or ping kinda sound when i turned it up and the amp or subs would shut down and I would have to turn it down and something would reset and it would turn back on all of a sudden I was on my way to work and it did that after listening to some Eminem and it wouldn't turn back on and the Protect light is now on On the AMP ?? I don't know anything about this stuff Thanks for the info so far

take the amp to an audio shop and have it bench tested. Like someone else above said if you push in on the speakers are they hard or mushy?
Also did you wire up the speakers or did someone else do that for you?
