Default idle problem

I have a 97 5.2 ram 1500 and im having a problem with it idling. sometimes it will idle fine then after reving it just cuts out like it is starving for fuel. I sprayed some carb cleaner down the throttle body today while it was running and now it while stay running but after letting off the gas the idle drops way too low. next i was going to change the fuel injectors. any help?

Plugs, cap, and rotor should also be checked and the plugs cleaned. I would do this before spending the money on injectors, clean the EGR valve as well. I have been known to use brake cleaner on it.

It is not alays the most expensive part that fails, I learned this the hard way after spending ~$300 on a starter, battery x2, and a carb for my JEEP only to find that my $30 fuel pump went out.

Try cleaning the IAC. It's on the back of the TB. Clean out the bore in the TB where it installs to also.http://www.v8performance.com/tipsandtricks.htm#CleanIAC

no offense, but spraying carb cleaner down the tb doesn't do anything. the tb is just a big hole in the top of the motor.

also, if it runs ok at med to high rpm's with your foot in the gas, its probably not the injectors.

do a seach on here for IAC and TPS. there's about a zillion posts. those 2 sensors are generally the cause of most idle related problems. they're cheap. +1 on EGR if your year has one.

Dude, did you try cleaning the IAC or just the whole throttle body?
