Default Cab & Chassis Cataltic Converter

I have a 1998 3500 Cab & Chassis truck and my truck has two cat's with the air tubes mine are starting to rattle a little and I wanted to replace them with some high flow ones like a MagnaFlow I was told the part number 95221 would work but according to Summit racing they say these have no air tubes? and the MagnaFlow site has been no help either I hate to go with the stock dodge ones just due to the price around $400 each also what would be the effects of just eliminating the cats all together? I appreciate any suggestions.

eliminating the cats will increase the overall sound, but some people have said that it produces a CEL light. I gutted mine about two weeks ago, and have not had a CEL yet, but there is a higher sulfur smell coming from the exhaust.
Another bad thing about no cats is you will fail inspections and emissions tests.
I get around this because I have a friend that I call and tell him the year make and model and the mileage and he writes me a sticker.
Thats in MO, so I am not real sure how strict your inspections are in NC.
As far as I know the maganaflow cats should work.
It also sounds like your truck is California emissions equipped with the two cats....

Hey thanks for the response yeah I can't do away with the cats because of the emissions here in NC and yeah due to my truck being a cab & chassis it was equipped with the "heavy duty emissions " aka as California emissions I was jsut wondering if anyone else on this site with a similar truck had switched to magnaflow cats.....thanks

Mine isnt set up that way, but I have heard very good things about the mag cats. they open the sound up a little bit, help with flow, and still allows you to pass emissions. I just could not see paying over 170 for a cat
