Default Two thumbs up for Posi-Lock

I just finished the install today. It took me a while because I was doing most of it by myself, and I'm not the most mechanically inclined (not yet anyway, I'm going to Wyotech in June though, LOL!).

I had it all together last night, but it didn't work, so when I tore it apart this morning I realized.....I INSTALLED THE FORK BACKWARDS!

Needless to say, I got it all buttoned up, and she works GREAT! It's a big change to see the front tires spin when climbing a snow bank.

Here's a quick few shots:

Yes. Thanks to the Posi-Lock.

After taking off the Vacuum Actuator, I realized that the truck probably was never put into four wheel drive, as it's a truck from Texas, and has been there the whole time. The actuator was literally rusted shut, and it took a lot of doing to get the rod to even move as it should. This of course being all after I had taken the old housing off the diff.

The only bad thing was that I cracked the new housing just a tiny bit, but I fixed it up with some Blue RTV sealant.

For anybody thinking about getting the unit, I say do it. It really is the best $215 I spent on the truck.

And all this time I thought I had the most dirty interior! Anyway, Glad you got it figured out and working. I'm contemplating getting one myself.

Haven't cleaned her up since June, LOL! The carpet is atrocious.

And don't contemplate, DO IT!

I think the most impressive part is you have a full tank of gas.

Nice job on the install, glad you are liking it.
