don't sweat it man, if it ain't broke don't fix it. The famous 2.02 camel back chevy heads were notorious for having cracks and guys run those things like that hard for years and years.
so do any of u guys think it could be the electrode off the spark plug ?? and should i be scared of that happening I have put like 100K on my spark plugs?!!!!

Well, I think that a negative spark plug electrode breaking off could have caused the damage, but I will never know for sure since I bought this truck used. I didn't post these pics to make people worry, only to document a known defect with the factory Magnum heads so people could see it first-hand. Plus, I liked making the paperweight!
Thanks a lot rex for doing this, in a sense, just for us. I just recently on here heard that the heads were $h!t and I was wondering what always happened to them. I'm considering tearing my heads off too now when I do my plenum fix. I'll practically be there anyways. Although, then my preformance mod self will want to put the 1.7 RR's on there and I can't afford that right now. HEHE
You're welcome, dblj. You know, some people will never have the problem, so I would just monitor your compression and take note of any cylinders that start falling behind the rest. My bad cylinder still pumped out 140 psi while the rest were in the 170-180 range. Now, if you ever decide to put in a cam, bite the bullet and replace the heads as well. Go for the 1.7's now or when you can afford it.
