Well, he's adjusting but I really don't thinks it's gonna help. I called a mechanic and he can rebuild it with upgrades for about $1250 with a warranty. I can't find a used one anywhere, and besides there is no guarantee the used one will not do the same so might as well go with a rebuild.

 

What kind of "upgrades" are you talking about? If your talking about a shift kit then the one I put in (Trasngo TFOD JR) it only costs about $20 and takes about a half hour to do (Including cleaning the throttle body). The Transgo HD 2 kit is about $120. I can't really think of many more upgrades that could be done. The rebuild kit is only $100.

If your husband can take the trans out himself, you might be able to find a place that will do it for a few hundred cheaper.
