Default Normal time to operating temprature?

What is an average time for a Ram to reach normal Operating temp? I have noticed that my truck is taking 20-30 minutes to reach normal temp and even then the heater is marginal for operation.

is this a common thing (i see quite a few posts about heaters) or do I need to look into repairs?

mine takes 10 minutes to fully warm up on 20 degree mornings. this is idling, with the defrost on full blast.
you may have a thermostat stuck parcially open, which would allow coolant to pass when the engine is cold, which its not supposed to, resulting in an extend warm-up period.

Well I've definately got a problem then. I twas about 50 degrees this morning and it still took that long. Now that I think about it the colder the morning the longer it takes to warm up. last snowstorm when it was near 0 degrees I dont remember it getting to operating temprature at all before I got to work and I was in the truck for almost an hour.

Thanks

t-stat. spend the extra $5 and get the Super-Stant. it has a lot more material in it than the super-cheap.
