Default Ram 3500 Turn Signal Issues

Hi all,

I am having some trouble with my turn signals, they work fine until I hit the brake pedal. Once I hit the brake pedal, they stop flashing, just come on solid. As long as I dont hit the brake pedal, they work as they should. This happens on both sides. Doesnt matter if there is a trailer hooked up or not.

All bulbs, fuses, wiring are good, have checked it all out. I am thinking either brake light switch or turn signal switch is bad, any ideas? Thanks.

Put your parking lights or headlights on and try them. It sounds like a bad ground, and they could appear to be working by going to ground through the park/tail lights when they are off. If they don't light with the park/tails on there is a bad ground at the rear lights.

Found the issue. Apparently a previous owner had some extra lights wired into the system...some side marker lights or something. I found a big tape job under the drivers side, with a bunch of cut and spliced wires, and the left and right turn signal wires had actually corroded together and shorted. Repaired all the wiring with heatshrink and problem solved.
