Door locks wont go up?
I just started driving last Friday and the drivers side switch would put up the locks but now a few days later it will put them down but not up so it is a problem with the switch. The passenger side works fine and so does the alarm key pad thing unlocks them. I have done nothing to the switch. I know i will have to probably get a new switch but maybe you guys could help me out without getting a new one.
Thanks!
Thanks!
If you take the door panel off you can inspect the harness leading to each individual button.
Check for loose or severed wires. Sometimes stuff just wears out over time.
I'd just go to the local junkyard and get the whole switch pad and harness for like 8.00 bucks. I think my local pull and save charged me 27 dollars for panel + switches/harness. So it couldn't be all the expensive. (20 for panel, 7 for switches).

Maybe they froze shut. I should have asked if it was sitting outside or not. I have to do that from time to time because the actuator doesn't have enough strength to break it free and pull the window down.
Glad you figured it out!

It will continue to get worse...it is happening to me! My passenger can't lock the door and can't roll up the window...I am assume the copper wiring just gone bad (after years) but I could be wrong....I can control it all on the driving side...any ideas?
Not too hi-jack your thread but to help you for future problems.

I've had the same problem off and on with my 95 1500 2WD 5.9L. The problem is that on the 95 at least there is no relay for the power locks, all the current goes through the toggle switch. The copper alloy they used to make the switch is not very good, and the arc you get (because it takes a lot of amps to actuate the lock mechanism) when you operate the switch burns the surface of the switch contact. When that gets bad enough, no more current will flow, and the lock will no longer work. You can get this in just one switch or both, and it can affect just one operation (locking or unlocking). If you are real careful, you can take the switch out of the mount, take the switch apart, and use sandpaper to remove the burned stuff to expose clean metal. Then it will work until the burned stuff builds up again.
