Default Where is the leak?????

hey guys, my truck just recently developed an oil leak and it seems pretty bad seeing as i went through about 1.5 quarts of oil since my last oil change two months ago, my truck has 150k and i put synthetic blend in it for the first time(idiot, never will do that again), it seems the passenger side of the block is covered in a nice thin layer of oil, whats the best way to pin point the leak??? i dont want to replace what i dont have too, ya know? also, how is the rear mains on these engines? any help would be much appreciated

passenger side, on the side, like from valve covers ? or passenger side on the front, like timing cover.

you're probably ready for valve covers. they are pretty easy. you're probably also due for front crank seal and rear main. front crank comes out - well, around the crank. rear main will drip down the dust cover. front require removal of water pump, and timing cover, also a good time to do the timing chain, which will also be worn out at 150k. rear requires removal of starter, dust cover, oil pan, oil pump (might as well replace it), loosen the mains a little, and the 2 piece main is replaceable,

take the truck to the car wash and clean it off good with degreaser and light pressure, then look for the leak.

pics and tech.
