I know its a shot in the dark but do any of you hughes repair kit guys have that paper with the sequence and how much tq you use on the bolts? Also if I pull it can I reuse the metal gasket that came with the kit or do I need to get another one?

Well, I have a brand new Hughes sitting here that I have not needed to install yet. So I can give you a pic of the torque pattern, but as far as reusing the gasket, I wouldn't do it even if it says you can.

Yeah I lost mine. Well you will all be pleased to know that I stripped the crankbolt and according threads so now I have to figure out how to get this thing off the stand and down to the machine shop to fix, now that it's almost completely built. Not to mention it happened on a weekend so I am stuck until Monday anyways....I HATE CARS SO MUCH.

Here's the pic , but can't you get a couple new bolts or a tap to try and clean the threads?

That sucks. How did you manage to strip out the crank bolt threads? Were you pushing on that new balancer?

Thanks guys wait till the covers get on, as for the strip I was tqing it down and near what I assumed was the last of the tq the bolt just started spinning freely, so I tried tightening again but it just tighten finger tight and then go loose. Took it out and now it doesn't even thread in, so I m pretty sure the thread on the crank is done cause the first two on the bolt are shot.
