1999 Dodge Ram Sport tranny problem
So I was driving in my truck and then when i did a either a left or right turn my truck would start to struggle when coming out of the turn. I also noticed that in a straightline my truck goes 1-2 then hesitates to 3 then 4.
what could it be?
what could it be?
My truck is doing the same thing. I drive a 2000 ram 1500 2wd with the 318. Only thing different is that if I have to drive over 20 miles my truck will turn off the OD. Then if I drive another 10 to 20 miles it will throw the trans temp warning. I had the tranny rebuilt at around 65,000. It now has 160,000 on it. The other problem that I am having is that I cant keep a tranny pan sill in it. I have put three in in the last 6 months and it needs one now. I am no mechanic but know how to do most of the general maint. All in all not very happy with this truck. This is just the latest in a LONGline of problems.
Also, because of the tranny pan sill, I keep constant check on my fluid.

It sounds to me like you may have a blockage in your trans cooling lines or need to put on either a deeper pan or an aux. cooler to keep your fluid cool. I think it is automatically built into the computers to shut the OD off if the trans gets too hot. Then shortly after, it throws the light.
As far as the trans pan gasket, you may be overtightening it. I know that it only take like 13ft/lbs of torque to tighten it down. If you crank it down too tight, then you will warp the pan edge and squeeze the gasket out.
If you already warped the pan, then there are ways to tweak it back to normal.
I have a couple of question i want to add to my thread.
1.How can you tell if when you fuel pump is going out
2.Why is it when I turn either left or right @ a intersection my truck struggles to get up to speed. and if am going @ a low speed on incline it does the same thing.
3.What is the Size of the plastic hose that goes on the speed servo and how can you tell if the speed servo is still good?
