My girlfriends dad replaced the trans in his 01 dodge ram and he thinks the new trans came out of a 99 durango. It shifts perfectly but has no overdrive. The light can switched on and off on the dash. I have an otc genysis scanner and with that i can demand the trans to shift into fourth but it will not go, it says gear demanded-4th, current gear-3rd. I am guessing the overdrive solenoid but looking for opinions. Thanks

ok a month later and still no od but today I was pulling a trailer and all of the sudden it popped into overdrive, i pulled out my scanner and it said the trans temp was 24 degrees and I had been driving for a while so I am pretty sure it is the trans temp senor. so what I am wondering is where it is located and if it would be the gov pressure sensor?
It is an 01 1500 with the 5.9 thanks. Matt
