Default OBD & tuner questions

My truck has a born date of 09/1995 but the catalyst sticker says it complies to all 1996 regulations. Pink slip says 1996. But how can I tell if my truck is OBDI or OBDII? Also, I can't seem to find a programmer for a 96. Hypertech doesn't make them, nor does Superchips. So what other companies are out there? Thanks for any help!

Since you have a 5.9, I think a Mopar computer will work.

I'd rather not put a whole new PCM in the truck. That's a lot of work and most likely expensive. Don't they have programmers out there for a 96? How do I know if my truck is OBDI or OBDII?

take a pic of your pcm and post it.... Your unlikey to find and hand programer for that year , and i think SCT only support OBD II , now if you can find a hypertech PTM for that year but again its very hard to find even on ebay , mopar performance pcm mite be easier to find...another way to see if you have an OBD II is go to the local parts store and ask them to do a scan with there ODB II reader and if it reads then there you go..Im not really sure but the 95 1/2 year is when they mite switch to the OBD II

My 00' mustang has a port for scanners and such...do you think my truck would be OBDII if it has that same port underneath the steering colum?

Would this work? It says 94-95, and my truck does say 09/95....
