Default siphon

So im working on siphoning the fuel out of my tanks so i can clear the water out and while doing so I found out that i cant seem to reach the tank with the hose that i bought, so im not sure if 4 feet of hose is just not enough, or does the tank on the dodge have some kind of thing in it that keeps you from siphoning it??????

Never done it, but I would assume 4ft would be too much. I bet the end of the hose is curling upwards... so the end isn't in the gas. And as far as I know there is no prevention for siphoning so I would slowly put the hose down till you think your in the tank I guess. Sorry im not much help.

Yes, it has an anti-siphoning neck. It is basically a ball that sits in the way allowing liquid to pass, but not large enough of a hole to get a hose by. If you want to siphon, you have to detach your filler neck and siphon from there.

these tanks have an anti siphon device in the filler tube. its a ball thing, best bet is to reach up and disconnect the filler tube, im trying to remember if i had the bed off when i did it, which i probably did.

four feet is plenty of hose, but not when there is blockage. sorry

If I'm not mistaken that valve is supposed to keep gas from running out when you turn over. One of the saftey features they've had over 20 years.
