Default I'm Looking for a 94-01 Ram to buy.

I was wondering if anyone on here knows of a 94-01 Ram that is for sale near Missouri.

I'm looking for my first vehicle, and I'm really wanting a Ram.

I want it to be either a Regular Short Bed, Regular Cab Long bed, or Club cab Short bed.

I need a 4x4, and preferably the 5.2 318.

I want a Dependable truck, one that the Transmission won't go out on after a year or two.

oh one last thing, My budget is only about $4,500

Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Heya.

Where are you located?
And you'll probably have to look in the ways of a high mileage dodge (but everyones market for trucks is different)

You should have shopped for one when the gas prices were above $4.00 a gallon (here in washington, im sure more in other places).

If you wait closer to tax time you might be able to pick one up for a good deal, depending on how our economy plays out.

1994-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L 318 "blue books" (in my area)
Good condition - $4,790 for a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup 4x4 Manual Club Cab/Short Bed w/ 145,000 miles.

More important... where are you located?

P.S. I saved my money up for my first vehicle and it was a Nissan 2wd pickup from 1985.

I am glad that I got that as my first vehicle because I thought I knew how to fix everything. Paint everything. etc. So make sure that you realize there will be some stuff that you can't do in your truck!

Oh and don't be an *** driving it around.

On the gas constantly, "burning" tires up hills, driving way to fast, revving the engine past 4K every shift for SPEED. I come from a motorcycle backround and like to wrap things out. But V8's don't like high rev's.

If you take care of the thing, chances are its going to be alright. (Assuming you didn't buy it from some punk kid)

I am about 75-80 Miles south of St. Louis Missouri.

I've looked on Autotrader, Cars.com, Ebay etc. but nothing really interests me, or it's just to far of a drive to go and look at a "Online" truck, that you have no clue what you are buying.

I know you said this is your first, and while you are probably itching to get something take your time. You want something reliable so that means you might have to pass on some things first, dont be afraid to do so. What you want is do-able for $4,500, maybe it isn't a cinch but my first truck was around the same price and lasted several years. I live too far away to help you, but I know on the way home from work I pass about 4 Rams for sale from $2,500ish to 6 something. They are out there, just keep beating the bushes.

Well, I may or may not be getting rid of the one I have now.... There isn't anything wrong with it; its just that I will be going upstate in a couple of years for my doctorate and the gas mileage will kill me. This one was my frist truck and IF I sell it I do not ever want to see it again... if you would be interested just pm me later and we will see whats going on

Default I have your truck

Ok so my wife and I were thinking about selling our Dodge. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.2 318 you need. It's in remarkable shape and is fully maintained. It is the quad (4 door version) and it's also the sport version. It has a nice 6 foot long bed with a hard liner that will last you forever. Since it's th quad, it also has the rear seat that lifts up for athe "toolbox" area. It has a whole new ac system including the condenser, cat coverter, radiator ad a whole bunch more so it needs no work. It will pass any state inspection without question and the only thing it MIGHT need is new tires even though the tread is still good, it has a few plugs in the tires. The tranny is VERY strong and I have not only never had a single problem with it, I also kept it regularly maintained to keep it that way. I use KandN air filter and oil filters for quality, etc...you get the point. Now the only thing is I cant meet your budget as I know I can get $7500 for it in my area. I can probably go $6500 if its possible for you to meet any budget but th good news is you really don't need to put any money into it if you get my drift. Oh, it only has 115k miles on it and I get on a bad day 14 miles to the gallon which I think is above par for the truck.
