I was just reading the thread comparing the engine options for the 09 models. How crazy is it that the 3.7 V6 makes the same power that my 96 5.9 V8 was rated when it was new. Also the 5.7 makes about the same as my 95 8.0L V10 made when it was new. Sometimes it just makes me think about saying to heck with building the magnum and spring for a 6.1L crate motor. Sorry, just ranting a little bit.

 

Ha, within bounds man. The 3.8 in the new Jeep JK's is no V8, but it makes an incredible amount of power for such a little thing.

I KNOW, that with all the new technology automakers are finally being forced to use, vehicles are going to become more powerful, with smaller engines that are far more efficient.

It's already happening, let's hope the Big 3/2 finally get on the bandwagon.

 

Wait, the 5.7 makes 390 now. I thought the v10 made 300 fresh off the line?

 

Maybe he means the 4.7(cough,, 285).

 

all i got to say is donnt believe all the hype. i have drove hemi's and there not that great. my truck has more power than the hemi's. i guarantee it. lined them up before too.

the only thing i find that i think is better about the hemi is the mpg's.

 

Its so sadd.

 

power is over-rated have no idea where they get those numbers from, my truck beats hemis, granted my bolt ons prob help lol
