Default Hello from Texas...

Hey guys I just joined the forum. This is my first post. There is a ton of good info on here, I love it.

I have a few questions. I bought a 1999 Ram Quad-cab 4x4. it has the 5.9. The only problem I am having is a slight "clank" comming from the rear. it only hapens when I am stoped and just start to accellerate. sounds as if the driveshaft turnes a bit before the rearend engages. I first thought U-joints. I checked them and they seem fine. no play in the driveshaft at all. I looked under the hood, it says it has limited slip and anti-spin installed from the factory. 3.55 gears btw. I'm just trying to narrow it between the rearend, transfer case, or the transmission. If any additional info is needed let me know and i will get it.

Thanks
Mike

Check the u joints again. Park on a flat surface, put the parking/emergency brake on and out the truck in neutral. Climb under it and see if you have any play in the u joint(s).
