Upgrading overhead console
I'm still a little confused about this. If the white connector plugs in behind the fuseblock what do I splice the ambient temp sensor wires to? Do they go into the fuseblock or all the way up to the overhead console itself?
Untape the wire bundle on both halves of the harness you have. The one from the sensor and the harness by the white connector. The 2 wires from the sensor should be lengthened and spliced into the same color wires near the plug. My truck did not have the factory setup and I wired it in myself and did not use the white plug since I did not have one. Sorry I can't be more specific for you.
where exactly do you hook these wires up? I cant get the old harness out and i'm thing of just straight wiring it up. What color wires do i need to connect to. right now i have yellow black and pink. where do i splice and what wires do I hook up from the console to whever they go so it will work?
Also, the three connector wire at the end of the harness is for an auto-dimming mirror.

OK i got a complete 1998 console computer and harness with the entire temp sensor. not spliced anywhere. I plugged the console harness into the one that had only maplights and the compass works great the temp reads OC but i never even hooked that up so I expected that. The problem is the 2 lights stay on except when you close the door. Is there any way to fix this so you can click them on and off again? I also need advise on hooking up the oxygen sensor. It plugged right into a harness next to the emergency hood light but I'm clueless after that. that is where th line ends and is wrapped in a bunch of tape. Is there a harness to plug to down in there? Also do you have to pull the entire dash off to get the wires up the A frame to get them to the overhead console or is there an easy trick? Thanks.

Just happened across one on Craigslist in town for cheap. Thought since the truck was torn apart for the stereo upgrade now would be a good time, but after reading this, would have to dig up a harness.
