Yesterday I drove through some really deep snow.....when I put my truck in park the 4wheel drive light went off and the truck has no 4 wheel drive.....even though it is still in 4 wheel high. I have even put it in 4 low and it still does not engage. Whats the deal...have I really tore something up? Please help.

Sounds like you tore off the vacuum hoses underneath at the CAD. Passenger side back of the axle.

Sounds like someone else said. You may have torn the vacuum line off the axle vacuum motor (#31) in the pic....

My light stopped coming on too. I pulled the CAD out on the weekend to check for smooth operation and it shifts fine. THe 4x4 does engage, but if you put it in 4 hi while rolling, it take a few seconds and you hear a slight grind as it engages. 4 lo just shift it, wait a sec, roll forward a bit and its in no problem, but still no light. I suspect a fouled vacuum line as well.

Had a problem with my 97 2500. put in 4x4 but wouldn't come out. ended up being the steel line for the CAD was pluged with rust. Was the first time this fall I used 4x4. I guess it had all summer to rust on the inside of the tube.
