Okay I'm drivin into town the other day and my truck starts kicking in and out of overdrive, I come to a stop light and when I take off again it wont shift out of first gear. So I pull into autozone and check the fluid, it was about 4quarts low. I look under the truck and transmission fluid is everywhere, so I figured I blew a line. I had the truck hauled home on a flat bed. I get to looking underneath my truck and the overdrive unit (rear part of the transmission) has a big crack from one side to the other.

So I change out the overdrive unit and put it all back together. I put a new filter in the tranny and put all new fluid in it. For the most part it drives okay but it doesn't shift as hard as it used to, sometimes it will stay in first gear up to 3800 rpms before it will shift to second, other than that it shifts good through all other gears and overdrive works great, is there any way to get it to shift into second a little better? I dont know a whole lot about transmissions.
