Default Headlight system electrical problem

My wiring system must hate me. I usually drive during the day with the parking and the fog lights on, (i think it makes a sport truck look mean...). Anyway, recently when I turn my parking and fog lights on, the high beams come on as well. And when I turn the headlight switch to the on position, the lo beams come on, but the high beams will not turn off.
I was thinking bad ground but I have never messed with any of that wiring so i dont know why all of a sudden that could happen.
And the odd thing is: if the truck is not running, and i turn the parking and fog lights on, it works just how it should, just parking and fog lights. However, as soon as I start the truck, the high beams come on. Also, if I run with just the parking lights, they work fine also. It only acts up when the fog lights OR the headlights are on, I have tried turning the fog lights off, but with the headlights on, the high beams still will not shut off.
The only other thing im thinking it could be is the hi-lo beam stick on the steering column.
But that is why I am posting, Any suggestions or ideas that anyone else could offer would be appreciated!

Remove the headlight switch and look on the back of it and the plug that connects to it. You will probably find that one or the other is melted .

Does your car start ok, but your headlights dim when idling. It could be a bad alternator. When the alternator can not produce enough electricity to keep the electrical systems running and the battery will have to be used to take up the slack. This will eventually wear down the battery and not allow your car to start.
