I do want to run up into the 500 hp range eventually, I want to be able to keep up with some pretty mean vehicles, and I want to keep the same block I have because its been a good durable very powerful engine, I dont know of many of the 318's with many of the same or more bolt ons than I have that cant keep up with me... Something about this motor is just great?? I dont know... maybe its just how well I take care of it most the time besides the occasional mud trail which I try to avoid now even most the 360s that are stock or just a little more than stock cant keep up with me off the line, not until higher speeds can they.

Cam it , ported heads, the fi air gap intake, sct, maybe some spray......way more fun than strokin' a 318. If you want displacement, go for a big block

I dont think I would ever give up the EFI in my truck. Its so much better than a carb, people pay alot of money to convert to EFI... to most it sounds more complicated, but with a little education its alot easier, andyou dont even have to get your hands dirty to tune.

I would go with a 360 block if your after power, the 318 would take too much machine work to gain the displacement and potential of the 360

If I was going to spend that kind of time/money on a Mopar, I would get a mid-sized Chrysler muscle car from the 60's or early 70's. If you have an SRT10 or Indy Ram that's one thing, but trying to do 400 to 500 HP in a heavy 4x4 doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Just my 2c.
