why the hell would you race a truck?.. that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard of!! Why would you have such a large tire on for the track? Why is it lifted and not slammed to the ground? 14's... my grandma's buick is faster than that!!

I can see wanting to see the rods and rockers moving while the engine is running.. but come on.. what are you going to gain from this?! You could say:"Wow... I can see my rockers move and adjust them before I go race my 3 ton lifted truck down the strip"

 

Dude youve got your head up your ***. The truck came with the tires and thats a stock off road lift. I dont always run with those tires on, i do put on slicks. Why race a truck, because i can. Why race anything if your not going to have fun in it. I like my truck, so im building it to race it. 14s for a truck that runs in the 19s stock is pretty good. Yeah the point of the rods being open is for maint. and adjustments. If you dont have any constructive input dont bother posting. Ask anyone who takes their truck or car down a strip why they do it. ITS FUN. Whats the point of the srt-10 then. I guess everything that weighs over 4k is pointless to make fast. Guess we should just all buy corvettes and that be the end of it.

 

get a ricer... or an SRT-10... anything but a 4wd! lol

I'm not trying to knock racing... I use to race quads all the time... but why don't you get a 2wd? I'd be like 800lbs lighter? right? It's cool someone is out there tearing up the track with a ram.. but a daily driver as well? Do you plan on making this like a real race rig? Or are you like a weekend warrior? why not get a 426 stroker kit? with 200# juice or a turbo kit?

 

Yeah man i dont wanna start a war here. Im a college kid, this was my 16th b-day present. Family works on cars, i love my ram. I love raceing. I HATE ricers. Id love an srt-10. Have the 4wd for snow and such (especially up here at college tons of hills and snow). That 800 pounds i can compensate with more power ( i think its 600 pounds actually lol) As of now its a weekend warrior, when i can get another rig to use for towing (2009+ model ) this will be a designated racer. Actually when im stationed at and AFB it will be a street legal racer. Thats my goal. I would love a stroker kit and a twin turbo set up. But as i said im college dont have that much cash. No nos though, just not my style. Maybe later down the line when i wanna shave off a few tenths if im ever in the high 9s or low 10s (hah yeah).

As far as i am now though, im beating my friends cars with a truck. To me thats pretty badass (exept for my bro with a wrx...****er) Gotta get my mustang back, but sold that after we finished working on it. So i got my truck to play with, and i love it.

 

Haha , my truck was my 16th b-day present as well! cept Mines 2wd and Im stuck with making it go faster , then go up a hill! Haha. As for checking the rods and rockers, Do you got adjustable rockers in there? Im looking at Hardland Sharp 1.7rr Adjustables But i dont want to have to adjust them all the time!!!! Without major Mods this truck beats most of the kids at my Highschools wonnabe cars. Im waiting till after collage to stroke it and turbo it like you
