Default Ram V-10 Transmission Problems

I have 2001 Dodge Ram V10. Since I have bought this truck it has never seemed to shift right. It wont downshift into first, but will go into first manually. Now sometimes it wont upshift. If I put it back in park and up shift manually it works. I know that it isn't slipping so I figure the transmission is still good. Any suggestions would be helpful. I was also wondering how interchangeable the 47RH is. Will a diesel tranny fit the v-10 and what years fit the 01?

Drop the pan and replace the governor sensor and transducer. replace the filter and adjust the bands.Your trans is a 47RE not 47RH. If you had 47RH, then you would had remove the overdrive unit and replace the governor and valves.

Thanks for the info. Now do you know of a good service manual for the 47RE?
