Angry sparkplug gapping questions

After changing my spark plugs i forgot to gap them from the original .035 so i pulled them and gapped them with a round gapper. I gapped them with the right side to the .044 mark, the left side was on the .047. Now ive found out that ive been getting about 10mpg, down from the 18 i was. so question 1 did i gap it right or not and question 2 if i over gapped them is that the reason my mileage went to crap?

Maybe, but if I was you I'd get a better gauge that you can see the #s clearly.

i've never heard of anybody getting 18mpg with a 360 ? never. are you sure ?
when did you get this, before the plug swap or after ?
you might want to fish those old plugs out of the trash and sell them to me

The ones that are like progressive around the perimeter suck. Which is what I think he has. Even if I'm wrong, if you can't clearly see .35 or .40 or whatever, it's junk. IMHO
