Question Next step..Exhaust...any advice?

A friend of mine has a lifted 98ram and used summit brand headers but hates them..I know there are a couple brands that make shortys but i seen that Pacesetter has long tubes and a off-road Y-pipe. So far thats the set up i like and its all 3in. pipe. Prob. run a Flowmaster true 40 after that and 3in tips out the back....Any thing sound bad about that?

I been told to use long tube headers because shortys wont do anything for you. Cousin of mine had asked a speed shop for his 07 Chevy 1500 and told him to go with long tubes because of that reason

3" single, right? dual 3" would be too much. 2.5" y-pipe into 3" single sounds good.

I have now a 2 1/2in Y pipe and 3in duals..yes It does sounds pretty good. But the headers are already 3in at the collector so i was thinking 3in all the way back. one into muffler and two out..Will it sound bad? i have never heard a dodge with that set up just didnt know.

I dont understand what you mean about your exhaust. you have a y-pipe, but dual exhaust? or do you mean you have dual tailpipes?
