Unhappy Heater Core Advice?

Currently, Im replacing my heater core. Yay lol.

Yea, the other day, found a green puddle on my nice new floor mats, so today Im fixing it. I'm following the instructions in the manual that was posted up here, and so far I've gotten the ACM out and the lower steering column cover removed.

Anyway, any of yall have any advice for me while I do this? This is my first heater core. I'll keep chiming in while I get it done.

Before you lift the dash up, make sure you disconnect the small cable for the shifter indicator.

My advice -- Don't go where the huskies go and don't you eat that yellow snow

+1 on this. I didn't realize to do this when I did my heater core and I snapped the little plastic adjuster piece. Now the cable is zip tied down to keep it in place.

I also didn't fully remove the dash, I just slid it out enough to get at the heater core and slide it out. Also, be prepared to fight a bit with getting the hoses off the core. Mine were stuck on there pretty good even after I got the clamps off. I had to pry them off with a screwdriver. A small screwdriver at that since it was up against the firewall.

Good luck!

Yea I knew about the shifter indicator from when we replaced the upper dash. I thought about doing the evaporator core too, but Im not sure if I want to pay up the money right now.

I didnt get much further today because of the rain, so tomorrow Im probably going to pull my mom's truck out of the garage and park mine inside to work on it. Thanks for the advice guys and wish me luck.
