Default Good Price?

I was at local truck accessories dealer and we talked about a rough country 5 inch lift kit.

They were telling me $1400 install.

Includes everything to drive it and what they say "jump ditches"( Brake line extensions, sway bar drop braket) all that stuff.

Is this a good price for the kit with install...

Also do i need to lenghten drive shaft and or power steering drop kit or anything. Thats the only thing they were not able to do if it has to be done

The cost of the lift itself is 760 through rough country. It includes the drop brackets and stuff they are describing. You dont need brake line extensions at that lift height even at full droop, your lower control arms will hit their brackets before the lines are over extended in the front.

So, if you're willing to spend almost 2x the cost of the lift to have them do it then yes, its a decent price. In all honesty though, the RC kit is a pretty simple install, I think mine took me about 4-6 hours with hand tools, but this is far from the first lift I've done. They will be faster with their air tools, though. I'll let you do the math on the hourly shop rate they are quoting.

Your driveshafts length will be fine, you may have some binding on the front shaft with this height, you may not. Results vary by truck, mine did.

One reason they charge almost 600 for install is because they warrany everything. If you break something they will replace it.

They told me that about a month ago a guy came in with his lifted jeep and his lift that they installed had broke somewhere blah blah blah but they replaced almost 600 dollars in parts for free.

I was just getting at if its worth it to you then yes, the price is fine. It sounds like you've already made up your mind.
