20w50 VR1 Engine Oil
I just put in 3 quarts 20w50, 2 quarts 50 (just cause i was a idiot when buying and didnt relise i grabed 3 quarts (I flush the old oil out with 1 quart of new oil) of sae50) of Valvoline VR1 Engine oil, Is there anything i should worry about using 50w oil? I like to try differnt brands of oil , and Valvoline VR1 was up next
. Supposedly it helps keep engine bearings alive longer with added ZDDP (zinc). I noticed I had a Slight valvetrain noise after I changed oil but engine felt more responsive slightly. I have 124k Miles on the clock. Let me know what you guys feel I should keep my eye out, Dont want to **** my self over by using 50w oil.

Since you ask for opinions, guess what...
Unless your bearing tolerances are as wide as the Grand Canyon, there is no reason for you to run 20W-50 and/or SAE 50W. Since you are in NY, I would expect that you will experience several more days of sub-freezing temps. If it gets too cold, your starter may give up its ghost struggling to turn the engine over. As for ZDDP, that is only a concern if you are running a flat tappet cam. It's meaningless when used with our engines. IMHO, I would drain that stuff out and put 10W-30 back in.
