Default would you sell?

a guy down the road stopped and talked to me the other day. he has a 01 ram in great shape. he wanted to look at my rims and tires cause he is looking to get new ones and liked mine. then we started talking performance. i showed him my underdrive pulley and edel ceramic shorties i needed to install yet. needless to say he bought my underdrive pulley and wanted to buy my headers too. he gave me what i had in the pulley (245$) and said he would give me 20$ more than what i have in the shorties. he told me to let him know.

heres my delima, i really like the look of the shorties and easier install. but every since i bought them, i have been thinking i should have bought long tubes.i mean i have the remflex gaskets and stage 8 looking bolts too, which i will keep. there are bolts and gaskets included with the edel's. he can have them.

do you guys think i should sell them to him and get long tubes?

Sure, if that's what you really want, then go for it. However, the down side of going with long tubes is you'll need to get a new factory style y-pipe, etc. if you ever want to go back with your cast iron manifolds. Headers do have a finite life span.

Sell the shorties, go get another set of shorties and pocket the $20. You are now officially "the middleman". :P

I don't know about our trucks, but a co-worker of mine said he put long tube headers on his blazer that he has (Its one of the older, bigger ones) and he said that he ran into all kinds of clearance problems. He said they were always in the way and that if he could do it again he would definently go with shorties.

Like I said, I don't know about our trucks, but just something to keep in mind when deciding.

you have talked about supercharging it, so maybe if you go with the sc long or mid tube headers will better( just look at RM INDY web site) but if your not sc, stay with shortys...... 2cents

that was something else in my thoughts. long tubes would work alot better than shorties with a super.

I liked my long tubes before and after my supercharger. I can honestly say though; if I did
it over again and didn't go with a supercharger I would have picked up some mopar mid
length headers. For a while I wondered if 1 3/4 inch primaries were just a tad too large for
a stock motor. Our exhaust valve is a 1.62 and thats the number you want to stay close
to when picking a primary size. I've been happy with my long tubes and if you get them go
with ceramic coated.
