Default 1998 Ram 5.2 4x4 No Power

I recently encountered a small car stuck in the sand on the side of the road. I hooked my truck to his car and proceded to try to pull him out but to my surprise when i gave my truck gas it leaned from the torque but did not move or even try to spin the tires. so i tried putting it in 4 low with the same result. to my dismay i had to leave him stuck on the side of the road. I am at a lose as to why i could not get the power to the road.

I replaced the TPS, water pump, thermostat, plugs, wires, cap and rotor after i realized that something was wrong. After replacing the parts mentioned above i hooked my Ram to my Durango in my driveway and had the same problem the tires will not even try to break loose.

Note: I do have the off road version that came with a posi-traction rear end.

Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks in advanced,
Tim

May be a tranny or TC problem.

I had the tranny rebuilt about 4 years ago, the level and color seem fine. I just really don't want it to be the tranny again. Could the TVC being out of adjustment cause this problem?

Thanks for your help!

Is the tranny slipping and the rpm's rising ? Or do you just simply have no power?

RPM's do rise and the truck leans from the torque.

Thanks,
Tim

I think you have answered my question. Could it be an adjustment in the bands rather then rebuilding the tranny. And if it is the tranny again is there anything other the the obvious regular maintenance (checking level, flushing) that i should check that could have caused it to go bad so soon.

Thanks to everyone,
This is a great forum.
