Not really necessary with just 3" lift. Depends on how you plan to use the lift I think.

from what I see it looks like he likes to get in the mud a little bit, but the question isnt whether he gets in the mud, does he like to crawl over rocks or anything, because if he does then he will need to get new control arms... with my 2.5 inches of lift I feel like I need the new control arms because I just dont get the kind of motion I want out of it...
