Holy Crap!!! Thanks!!
What is a DRB III? and i assume this still means I drop the pan to check this. I used me reader and the on-off-on-off-on and got just one code, 0748.

Is the wiring harnes/plug on the drivers side by the throttle arm related to any of this?

Sorry for the dumb questions but I only messed around in two places, the band adjustment on that side and the one on the inside.

well, you kind of need a scanner that displays running data, and can perform functional tests to use this, so hopefully you have one, or you can frind a frienad who does.

Crap! This happens just by dropping the pan and changing the filter? Not feeling confident about the tranny...

accually, now that i look at it, you could probobly do it with code reader and an ohmmeter.

the PCM should be on the passanger side firewall or passanger side fenderwell, both in the engine compartment. now this is pure spitballing, but i think that connector is the park, neutral safety switch plug, that also controls the reverse lights. but i cant find any data to back that up, sorry.

On a whim I called AAMCO trans and spoke to a tech. he told me he had this happen before also...don't know why though.

I didn't see anything in the solenoid and filter was clean. Swapped the A/C relay for trans relay with no luck. Guess I will take a look at the PCM, but ordered the solenoid and sensor so I'm down for a few days, most likely a week.

Anyway I found a link last night to a complete service manual for an 01 ram. It had the 46re tranny info with pictures and how to teardown and assemble about anything. Had good pictures.

Thanks for the help thus far and I will let you know how things go with new parts.

Just an update if anyone is still reading this. Put things back together tonight just to get it off the jack stands and see if the trans performed like it did before I changed the fluid. Now the trans buzzes in neutral while I was trying to top off the fluid. Could be cause it is not full, I think. In addition the tranny would not shift down, it would start out in 3rd. Still baffles me how this happened.

Have had it at the mechanics for better than 3 weeks now and he has diagnosed that I need a new computer. He has run ohm and voltage checks on everything with the tranny. Once he thought it was the fuse box but realized he was bypassing the computer to make the tranny operate correctly. He installed the governor pressure sensor (the one i recieved from the parts store was wrong). I have never owned a vehicle that a computer has gone out on before. The only thing wrong withthe computer is that it throws the tranny in limp mode, obviously not good. I just wanted to let anyone reading this post to know wehat has been going on and see if anyone has other ideas or causes.
