Question 98 1500 Idle Issues and a few questions

Whenever I turn my truck on and if I let it idle for too long it starts to sputter and make a really loud high pitched hissing noise coming from the engine. I have a gutted Catalytic Converter and I know my O2 sensors are bad but It sounds like an air intake problem to me but im not sure. I'll try to get a better video of it later so you can actually see and hear what it's doing. It happens without fail nearly every time I start the truck and let it idle for a few minutes. I noticed also that the engine starts to shake and wobble violently as if its miss firing possibly? I don't know what the deal is. My RPM's are speratic as well, they drop to 250-300 RPM at times and I give it gas and it takes it a few seconds to actually start climb in the RPM's, like its almost flooded..Any help would be great! Also, some input on a decent Catalytic Converter that is California legal but hopefully wont rob me of performance would be appreciated as well as O2 sensors. Im full of questions today :P heres a link to a youtube video I just posted up so you can hear what its doing.

When you walked around the back of the truck, that rattling sure sounded like the cat had clogged/collapsed ... but it's been gutted. How are you manageing that in CA?

Remove and clean the IAC and TPS and the holes they go into on the throttle body. And as far as the cat goes, get a Magna Flow. They have them at Summit, Jegs, and can be found on ebay also.

+1 on the IAC. Remove the filter assy, then remove the throttle body. You can search for "clean your throttle body" as I did a write up on it a year or so ago. The IAC is the motor attached at the rear with the piston-like thing sticking into the TB. That area gets terribly gunked up with carbon. Get some cleaner and go to town with it. Should help.

+2 on the claening, also while your cleaning go ahead and look down the into the intake and see if there's poles of oil.

edit= also take a look at the dis cap and rotor, my old dodge ran very rought at idle, new rotor and cap run just fine, then later i put nes wings on
