Default coil springs

i went to a pull a part today, alot of good stuff, and i noticed all kinds of springs on the ground, so i was wondering, the springs off the 2500's does anyone know how long they are?, id like to get a pair and put em on my truck, but since theyre laying all over im not sure which ones came off the 1500's and which ones came off the 2500's, and also if i got those springs from a 2500 how much lift would that add in the front? would i just be able to put those on and get a 2" add-a-leaf for the back and be set? im pretty unknowledgable on the whole situation

Sweet!. Did you see if it had a digital overhead console? I'm going this weekend.

2500 springs from a v8 truck will net around 2" or a smidge more. Coils from a v10 or diesel truck will be more like 3" or a little more.

The diesel coils I have gained 3 1/2" on my truck, and the 2 add-a-leafs leveled it out fairly well. But they ride pretty stiff.

im not too sure about the overhead console, i forgot to even pay attention, man idk if youve seen it there before but theres a red 2500, that is just completely torched on the inside, everything is melted to ****...

about the coils, if it adds about 2 inches in the front, then i get a 2" add a leaf, how would that make my 31.5" tires look like? would it be too much, the tires are almost new and i dont want to have to cut my exhaust and shorten it up to make room for bigger tires at the moment... but i also dont want to lift about 2 inches and then have gay tiny tires.

Jack the frame up 2" with a jack in the front and rear and stand back and look at it. You will know exactly what it will look like.

My dad had the same truck/suspension setup I have with 265's and it didn't look too bad. Better than stock IMO.

I don't understand the whole cutting exhaust thing.

Olyelr, I thought I'd ask you since you have experience with those springs. I have 3" 1500 springs now but, I put on a LOT of weight with a new front bumper and winch. I was thinking of putting in stock 2500 diesel springs or 3" springs for a 2500 diesel. What's your opinion on the ride and weight support? - thanks

i have a custom exhaust dumped right before the rear tire, and i put the pipe relatively too close to the tire on accident, so if i upgraded tire size the tire would probably hit the tip of the exhaust

Well, the ride is quite stiff, but not out of control/uncomfortable stiff. In my opinion the stock coils are too soft anyway. And they still flex quite well too.

As far as supporting your bumper I would say they would work very well. As I stated before, my father had the same springs in his truck which he used for plowing. It supported the plow great. Didn't sag anywhere near as much as the stockers did.

Keep in mind though that stock diesel springs will gain 3" or so which maxes out the stock steering and control arms. So you may not want to get lift springs for a diesel unless you plan on upgrading other things (if you haven't already) because you will gain 3" more than what they will on the 3/4-1 ton truck.
